Gather your Social Security number, list of doctors and prescriptions, and note whether you have employer health coverage. Mark your 7-month Initial Enrollment Period on the calendar.
Compare Medicare Advantage plans in your zip code. Check which plans include your doctors and cover your medications at the lowest cost. Consider dental, vision, and hearing needs.
Enroll in Part A (usually automatic if you receive Social Security) and Part B if you're not covered by employer insurance. Choose a Medicare Advantage or Part D plan if needed.
Save your Medicare card, confirm your plan start date, and schedule any overdue preventive visits. Review your plan each fall during Annual Enrollment (Oct 15 – Dec 7).
